No, it's the same LGA775. That chipset just doesn't support any Core2Duo's, like every other DDR-based chipset. Core2Duo's use DDR2, and are only supported by some of the 945's, all 965's, the 975X, the recently released P35, and nVidia's 680i and 650i chipsets. Well, those are the only chipsets released thus far, that support C2D's.

There are some DDR-based chipsets that support C2Ds - the ASrock and Gigabyte 865G/865PE-based boards for one.
