Basically, i'd like to know how much faster a 1.6Ghz dothan would be than a 1.6ghz Banias. IPC may be the same, but what about mem controller/chipset, fsb, etc...

Won't really be a huge differance, the dothan has 2mb of cache which is helpful, they both run on the same chipsets, with the same ram, so no differance there, there are some 533mhz FSB dothans, but again, no huge differance. If this is for a laptop and battery life is important, the dothan has some better power savings features.

The Dothan will be a LITTLe bit faster. Not a lot, because of more FSB, more cache. The chipset really doesn't improve/deprove performance.

Banias ran at 400MHz FSB.
Dothan (except in rare cases) runs at 533 MHz FSB.
