Requirements;

sharp output, exellent color reproduction (photoshop, illustrator, etc)
dual monitor capable
ideally would be able to push one monitor to 2048x1536 @ 70 HZ, in case I ever get a second p220f
min req'd 1600x1200 @ 70Hz
the cheaper the better, willing to go a generation or two back if I have to.

would prefer nVidia, I have a quadro'ed 5900 ultra that can drive my p220F to 20x15 @ 70Hz, but only 1920x1440 if I plug in a second monitor, so I'm looking to offload the second monitor to a PCI card for the non-3d stuff (menus, picture browseing, p-shop, illustrator, etc)

sharp output and good color are top priorities...I was hoping there'd be a cheap PCI wildcat VP...but they're all agp.

The other option would be upgrading...can anyone confirm if a 6800 gt or ultra can drive 2 large CRTs, with one at 2048x1536 and the other at 16x12 and 70Hz as a minimum?

Recomendations?

If your other card is already nvidia, may as well stick with the same driver family.

You can probably find a PCI GeForce MX 4 400 / 440 / 4000 for about $20 - $40.

A PCI GeForce FX 5200 will cost you a bit more and not really help performance all that much. Ditto for a Radeon 9200.
