Need a PSU

My current setup is as follow

Opteron 165 @2.2Ghz
8800GTS
Asrock 939 Dual
4x512 Value ram @200Mhz
2x80GB RAID 0
Antec Truepower 430W

The Antec PSU is stable with this setup primed overnight (orthos) with rthdribl running with 16xAA and 1360x1024. No problems whatsoever.

However I am unable to get 2.6Ghz, I got a reboot while in windows it happened only once so I just brought it back down to 2.2Ghz

I suspect it is the PSU, I watched the voltages and the +12V would dip down to 11.98, thats the lowest it got, not sure if thats a sign though.

So I was looking at the Antec Smart Power 500W it has everything I need dual rail, modular and very cheap, I can get it for $80 compare to Enermax Liberty with similar wattage at $140 CDN

But I want to make sure if this PSU will allow me to do 2.6Ghz (assuming the PSU is the limiting factor, I could have just gotten a crappy opty, or my mobo doesn't go very fast.)

Thanks

Antec PSU's are garbage. If you are going to put the time and expense into replacing your PSU, it would be better to do it with something good. Go with the Enermax.

True there are better PSUs then Antec but wattage certainly shouldn't be a factor yet so odds are it won't do anything.

If you want to find out for sure throw in a low-end PCI-E graphics card with very little power draw. If it affects your OC you PSU could be the limiting factor, if it doesn't it almost certainly isn't.

You should try and test the voltage with a digital multi meter. Software voltage reading is not the greatest nor is it very reliable.
