Need a PSU recommendation

Ok, I've got a dying PSU, dead mobo or chip. Currently using a HX520w Corsair PSU (modular one). What would be a good replacement for that psu that could later be used in a new machine. I'm thinking a i5 or i7 based system with a 5850 card and 1-2 hd, 1 burner plus standard usb peripherals.

TIA

Heya,

Well, anything by SeaSonic, Antec and Corsair are great; they're all made by SeaSonic anyways. Corsair happens to have probably the better customer service though (replaces PSU, repairs, etc, very nicely and essentially free beyond cheap shipping to get it to them). Some go with Corsair just for that option (I've used it, it works, they're wonderful). Or there's others like Enermax and SilverStone. Get a solid PSU, modular if you prefer, in the 600~750watt range and you'll be fine for the system you mentioned in the future.

Examples:

Enermax 650W modular
OCZ 700W modular
Antec 850W modular
SilverStone 700W modular
SeaSonic 850W modular
Corsair 750W modular

Very best,
