need a PSU for the time being

Just need a PSU that is not over the top expensive. I don't want to spend a lot on a PSU because I am really waiting for the DX10 video cards which will require you to sell your soul to get enough power to run them. 🙂

In the meantime, I have:

E6600 which is going to be OC'd.
2gig ram
x1900xtx vid card
couple case fans
sata drive
dvd burner...

that is about it, except im still shopping for a heatsink for my CPU...

I was hoping to pay less than $80.

Is that possible for my needs?

THanks in advance.

If it's truely disposable, you might concider the Ultra V 500W $0 after rebate at Fry's. ($20 more in store.) jonnyGURU's review. Then use the money you save on something you will keep.

Check the connectors your MB requires. It's got a 20/24 pin, SATA, pci e, but no aux. I'm no expert, if I'm missing something else, let me know.

There's also the discontinued x-connect 500W $20 at MicroCenter.

To spend less on PSU for a C2D rig would be ridiculous. If you ever had a PSU go out on you and damage your system, you would never consider anything lower than Fortron, Enhance, Enermax, Seasonic and so on.......

You spending big bucks on a C2D and you're scrimping on a cheap PSU, give us a break!!!!!!
