Need a program to remove pops and cracks from wav files

I am in the process of copying some LPs to my computer to make CDs, but before I record the files to CD I want to remove some of the imperfections in the music first. Does anyone have any suggestions for a program that will clean up any of the pops and cracks that acompany the playback of LPs?

YES, Cool Edit Pro. But it's $69 or something like that, I wouldn't know as I um.......... have the "Special free version for me" edition.

I have never tried it but Spin Doctor that comes with Easy CD Deluxe is supposed to take out the ticks and pops from LP's also. I have it but never have tried it as of yet. I do have a turntable still and some LP's and should give it a try someday.

Spin Doctor is useless crap. It takes out SO much that the file sounds worse after than before!

I think Cool Edit (not Pro) will do it, and it is not too expensive.

(cous I'd like to have a regged one but the latest version would not work with the keymakers I found .. so I cracked it ..)

It's regged, hehe. New versions wont work with the keymakers.
