I am trying to get this old Slot 1 motherboard up and running for my in car MP3 player, but i need it running quickly, cos i'm not in all day tomorrow (at car show, and hence the rush!)

I know it's a Slot 1, AT motherboard, with only an AT keyboard connector on the back. there are 3 PCI and 2 ISA slots, 3 SDRAM slots, and the chipset has BXcel written on it.

I am trying to get a Celeron 333 to work in it. It is booting, detecting the RAM (64mb PC100) and the correct CPU speed, but just sits with "Please wait..." on the display, and has done for the past 10 minutes :(

I am looking for any other jumper settings, USB connectors, PS2 mouse connectors etc, and also how to disable the onboard sound which is has, as i have a 4 channel sound card already for it.

I have two pictures of the board here and here

Thanks in advance

pcchips model alton bat mpd pll bxcel 3 pci 2 isa 1 agp 3dm came up searching bxcel from here

although you don't state an agp slot this was found using the bxcel in google with info that any info would be hard to find as ali no longer keeps the info and pcchips and amptron also no longer carry the slot one motherboards as far as i can tell using google,i looked through some of the links but you may find more than i did

it would be better if you gave more #'s from the chips on the board or a fcc id # anything that can give more info to search

this was the first search heresearching under manual didn't provide anything sorry

hope this helps

Yeah, there is an AGP slot on the board.

After a little more fiddling, i managed to find out why it was sitting at the "Please wait...." screen - bad RAM. I replaced the 64mb stick with a 32mb stick and that is now booting up nicely.

I will find some more numbers on the board, and report back in a little while :)

Thanks so far, this has helped a little, as it's narrowed it down to PC Chips board :)

Looks like it could be an M729, or an M725. You can find pdf manuals for these over at this site.

If it's the M729, you might have a BIOS # like this:

61-0805-001437-00111111-071595-ali1621-725000-h

Ok, what you can do is go to this website Driverguide.com, they are pretty good at finding drivers and other kinds of manuals and things like that. This is a search engine that will let you find even the hardest manual or driver for old components. Just follow the instructions and you will find what you want
