Question Need a portable, outdoor networking solution.

I have a business where we conduct events at different locations. What I need is the ability for a laptop to roam the property (up to 1 acre) and still communicate wirelessly with a desktop. Reliability is key, though the amount of data going back and forth won't be huge. I don't mind running ethernet to expand the network or perhaps having some sort of antenna or booster with the laptop. I can even use a car battery in a cart with the laptop if I need to power a device. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Oops, it's outdoors.

Probably NanoStation AC, it's directional though.

With a powerful AP, don't think you need a big client side adapter/device.

Don't know how wide your 1 acre area is and its shape, it probably will affect the signal reception.

An acre is a pretty big area, but depending on how high and how strong your line of sight signal strength will be, you might be able to get away with something mounted 20' up.

Another way to do this is simply use a cellular wifi card and hotspot and use the data side of both to create a vpn tunnel over the cell network.
