here are my 3 topics im considering now.
-importance of wearing well fitted shoes
-steroids
-why you should eat ____ or why you shouldnt eat _________

I would go with the importance of wearing well fitted shoes. Steroids would be a good topic only if your class was filled with jocks, and people don't like being told what they should or shouldn't eat (in general). But people do like being informed about things they've never heard or known of, so if you can make the speech as light as possible, with enough intriguing facts - you should be able to get a good enough reaction.

alright. I was leaning more towards that one as well, I just think it may end up steering towards an informative speech, maybe i should push a particular arch support.

There's a very thin line between an informative and persuasive speech, because in order to be persuasive you'd have to back it up with factual information. Remember though, that with a persuasive speech, you're going to argue a point about what may be good or bad for someone, and if the topic is about wearing the right soles/shoes - you should be good to go either way.
