OK, I've been using a 9800 Pro 256mb AGP card for a while. Now I have a mobo with PCIe. It has on-board video but it's analog and I want a good digital out for my LCD.

Even though I am not a big gamer at the moment, I want something that will display them well as I may go through another 'phase' one day :)

Any suggestions? (yes, I will search the older posts after this ;) )

i suggest a vanilla 6800 or an x800...

or if you can wait the r5xx midrange cards from ATI look HAWT as it stands from what we know so far....

You might also specify a budget too. If you can swing it, an X800XL would be a great choice and good even for relatively mid-to-high-end gaming. (And they're not too expensive either, from what I recall)

The cheapest X800XL I found with a quick search was on Newegg at $249, so that's out. The next best would be the regular 6800 probably, those can be had for around $200 or a little less. Any less than that and it wouldn't be much better than the 9800 Pro you already have.
