Need a particular media player

Hello everyone,

I have a few video files (.wmv) in which the video is out of sync with the audio.

The video runs at a slower fps than the audio which results in a great lag (~6 seconds!) towards the end of a typical 50-minute clip.

Is there a media player that can let me run audio and video at variable fps or just one of them?

What other options do I have? VirtualDub doesn't run .wmv so I can't adjust fps in that one.

No one wants to help? I'm sure it's a fairly routine question you guys get asked or am I wrong? What if I post this in the video forum?

This is the full feature list.

Thanks.

Ah, I misread your question. My fault :p

I'd recommend posting over at the Doom9 forums - I'd expect you'd get a better turnout over there. :)

Hope you get your problem solved!

You need a permanent solution: fix your codecs. Reinstall Windows Media Player 10. Also go in Tools->Options->Performance->Advanced and enable keep A/V in sync. This affects other players as well.

Media Player Classic has an option for audio time shift. I've used it before to watch videos with out of sync audio.
