I have a HP DC7800p convertible mini-tower that i want to use as a mini HTPC, that and i don't have a PC monitor and the cost of the video card is going to cheaper then a monitor.

Reading the specs online here..

On page 12, it says i have a standard PCI express X16 and not a 2.0 version, is it safe to say its backwards compatible?

If they are not would this be considered one of the better "bang for the buck" video cards?

I dont plan on using the PC much but its nice to have there. PC was given to me. I figure $50 on a video card. $30 on a wireless keyboard and i'm golden if i wanna do a little HTPC, kinda making my TV a smart TV in a sense. LOL

You have the case from page 3? If yes, then a normal card would fit (no need for low profile card).

PCI-E is backwards compatible, so that is not an issue.

You can get this Radeon 6450 card ($30 after $10 rebate, so cheaper than that $34 GeForce 210).

Yes, page 3. The BIG BOY. Normal cards should fit.

Anything with a HDMI.

I assume that you plan to use a TV as a PC monitor.

I do not quite understand what you mean by this:
i don't have a PC monitor and the cost of the video card is going to [be] cheaper then a monitor
You need a graphics card even if you buy a monitor. You got that PC without a graphics card? Or the PC has a graphics card, but without HDMI?

Yes I want to use the tv as my monitor. The pc does not have a video card. The one u linked me is perfectly fine. I overlooked it earlier.
