Need a NYC restaurant for first anniversary dinner

My wife and I are driving into NYC tonight and tomorrow we want to celebrate our first anniversary at a nice restaurant. Any suggestions? Neither of us is a very adventurous eater, so a place that serves American cuisine or "americanized" foreign cuisine is probably ideal. We are looking to spend between $60 to $80 per person. Any suggestions?

I don't go into NYC much (I live on Long Island) so I don't know too many nice resturants there. But I would suggest checking out Zagats and select NYC in the location list. They have a very nice comprehensive listing of resturants there.

Park Avalon on 18th and Park ave. Very nice restaurant and not too expensive either.
