I need a notebook with the processing power to handle an application that requires a Pentium 4 at minimum. Any suggestions as to what type of processor this would be? Thanks.

Look for: AMD Turion, AMD64, Pentium M, Core Duo, Core Solo......
You might want to avoid: Sempron, Cytrix, Transmenta, Celeron.
What Pentium 4? The earlier ones were worse than a Pentium 3..

A current P4 3.0 GHZ 800FSB/2M. Those are the desktop requirements for the application. I need that performance in a notebook.

Ok then, that narrows it down a tad.
I would look for a 2GHz or above Pentium M/Core Duo, or a 2.0GHz or above AMD Turion/AMD64.

I assume you will be using this for some sort of content creation/workstation stuff.

Basically any AMD Turion/Athlon64, Pentium M, Core Duo/Solo will fill that role. Stay away from the Athlon64 if you are looking for better battery life.
