Need a Notebook with an excellent lcd...

I need some help choosing a new laptop.

I recently moved my work dictation to Dragon Pro 7.0 medical version...I now spend several hrs a day looking a toshiba laptop my boss got that is 15in screen but not very good IMHO

I just saw a Sony Vaio with a 16 in Xbright screen look great..but personall Sony products are so overpriced

I have seen some nice looking 15.4 inch widescreen that look nice but it s very hard to tell what will work best..also

I need one that has a decent soundcard to max. voice recognition performance...

My needs:
Excellent screen
512mg ram..at least
fast hdd
burner

fast but not necessarily the fastest processor
nongaming so high videocard is not manadatory but also nice

suggestions please

you can try laptops with the higher screen resolution like uxga or usxga...

most laptop sound cards are only two channel and aren't good at all for that kind of thing you might be better off trying that product from creative that hooks to usb or something i think

Get a Dell (8600 or any other model) with the 15.4 inch screen. The WSVGA+ and WUXGA+ are both great screens.

For your needs, you ll get a well configured 8600 within 1500$ ...

I just bought one of those overpriced Sony Vaio's, but it was absolutely worth it!! for the LCD alone. The Onyx Black LCD is as far as im concerned best one on the market! Go look at it again (the second time i saw and used one I had to buy it). There are some slightly older Vaio's that have the screen and aren't as dear, but will have everything you need.

Also, I would say get an external sound card, there aren't very many good inbuilt soundcards on laptops (least I havent seen them).

I absolutely love the LCD's on the Sony K13 & K15.

Anyone know the quality of the LCD on a IBM T41? Im sure its not as good as the sony's with XBrite, but is it decent?

guys how would an external soundcard work....like Audigy2 external unit??

That Sony screen was awesome...anyone know where to get a better price than CC

You plug the soundcard into your USB. Simple as that.
