Think I want to upgrade my folding pocket knife, budget is up to $150 the blade can be between 2in and 3in and must be locking.
I have always purchased cheap locking blades and thought I would be nice to upgrade to a better class of knife.

Would like to hear some feedback from you all about knives in this price and size range.

I use a Swiss Champ as my workhorse. I use the tools as much, if not more than the blade. I carry a fixed blade knife for defense, or when I want instant access to a cutter.

Because of where I work I like to use deep carry knives. For a while I was rocking a SOG Aegis mini. Small, light AUS-8 blade with a quick deploy. Only real complaint was some slight wiggle in the blade when locked which appears to be common among SOG folders.

I'd been wanting a flipper so last year I switched over to a Buck Vantage Force Pro w/ the A-TACS camo for EDC. So far I've been very pleased with it. Picked it up on amazon for around $75. Here it is for $74 I know it doesn't say pro in the title, but the force pro is the only version that comes in the camo with the s30v blade. *Blade is also 3.25" longer than what you are looking at.

Do you want brands of knives or specific models?

Microtech or Protech if auto's are legal. Do you expect to use and abuse or just light duty?

PS - I have a problem 🙁

i see a problem. don't think i see a surefire flashlight in there.

Buck Lux Pro is a 2.5" flipper with a s30v blade and a reasonably deep carry. Carbon fiber inlays in the handle so it doesn't have that "scary black tactical" look to it.

Yes, I know I'm coming off as a Buck shill but I'm just a fan.

S30V is a very good steel.

IMO I would check out the Spyderco H1 steel version blades. Rust proof blade. It's my goto camp blade and razer razer sharp.

Spend 50 bucks on a blade and save the rest for some other goodies.

Aren't surefire lights over rated?

The lights in the picture are foursevens, and fenix torches.

i have a couple of fenix lights. good stuff.

surefire definitely has a leveraged brand name that makes them pricey. however they are really really good lights at the same time. they also measure lumens the more ethical way - as they come out of the flashlight 'glass' vs right at the LED 'bulb'. my surefire e2L outdoorsman has been a perfect flashlight for years now. i had one small clip break in the rear switch and i just logged on to their site and ordered another one, free of charge, arrived just days later.

$150 for a pocket knife? Sounds like a rip off if you pay anywhere near that (or even half of that). Imo Mora knives are some of the best on the planet; pay $15 and get a camp knife that will last forever... don't think I've ever seen a folding Mora though.

Someone mentioned Spyderco knives, which are nice, but they do have some highly overpriced models.

Seriously, best trash blades ever! They take a nice edge and i use them to cut open boxes, places them in random places. Seriously a good budget blade lol

I have 4-5 headlamps, just not in the picture.. Most were spread out around the house and in each car. :X
