I have an Epi Les Paul guitar that I can't play that well, but can't bring myself to sell either because it is not worth anything. And it looks cool. Plus it is kind of fun to strum a few chords now and then and make a lot of noise.
Except that I no longer have an amp and can't make any noise, so it just sits in the corner of my room annoying me. So I am thinking of getting a a nice amplifier so I can at least use it. Like the guitar, the purpose of this amplifier will largely be decoration. Not that I wont enjoy listening to it, it's just that any amplifier is going to sound more or less the same to my untrained ears. So I want something with a kind of classic look to it. Also something that will hold its value. I do prefer the sound of tube amps, so prefer that technology, or at least a combo tube/solid state amp.
I don't mind buying an expensive one, if it will hold its value in case I ever decide to sell it. Any suggestions?
