Need a new virsuscan, etc

I had McAfee Personal Firewall 5.0 and Virusscan 8.0 (got it for rebate last year from CompUSSR)

But the subscription expired and I'm not so sure if I should continue with McAfee

It's a personal computer (internet surfing, gaming, etc) . . .

Are they GOOD?

I don't mind paying a little bit for something that is good . . .

I hate viruses and I don't mind paying $20 for a program that will perform much better than a free one . . .

The free ones use the same virus definitions as the ones business pay for, they offer then free to home users. Both AVG and Antivir have paid versions that cost money to non home users. Antivir has a much higher detection rate than AVG, according to trilobite's tests of over 700 real pieces of malware conducted on spywareinfos forums. Antivir is freeware and better than most paid antivirus applications according to the tests. No registration needed, just install and go.

i would recommed kaspersky personal v5.0 (www.kaspersky.com) i have been using it for years!
