Need a new video card

Yesterday I went out and found this game, that I had previously played a demo, for $10. It took me awhile to finally figure out that my video card wasn't quite good enough. So now I need a new video card. The game I am trying to play is Supreme Commander 2.
The minimum requirements for the video are worded exactly like this: 256 MB VRAM DX9 with Pixel Shader 3.0
And then the recommended are worded exactly like this: ATI Radeon (TM) X1800 or equivalent card with 256 MB VRAM with pixel shader 3.0
I'm willing to pay up to $100 and don't care if its minimul as long as it works and I can afford it.
Any suggestions on a reasonable video card?
Jovec suggested that I say if I'm OK with a used GPU. The answer is deffinately YES! If it makes my game work and it a reasonable price then of course!
I was watching a couple videos of the game on youtube and found out that you can have massive armies and online up to 8 people playing at once. Maybe I'll need a card that costs more than $100?

Thanks, Jeff

A gts450 or hd5750 are both within your price range and both will run the game well. It's cheaper to buy online, like through newegg or ebiz, than going to a retailer.

Make sure your computer has a full sized PCIe slot before you go out and purchase a GPU.

Make sure your computer has a full sized PCIe slot before you go out and purchase a GPU.

And check your power supply for an available PCIe power connector. Unless you are going to use a molex adapter, the 5670 might be the best you can get that doesn't need external power.

If you are gaming at 1680x1050 it's debatable if you need 1GB VRAM; at lesser resolutions you really don't need more than 512MB when you are using a low end card.

IIRC SupCom 2 is also CPU heavy so a new video card might not meet your expectations for performance completely if you have a low end CPU.

Edit: provide the information suggested in the link in Raven's sig for better suggestions. Also answer if you are OK with a used GPU.

You willing to do rebates? If so go for GTX 460 768 which I've seen for as low as 93 AR.
Otherwise best cards that may be in your price range when on sale are:
NV
8800
9800
240
250
450
460

ATI
4850
4860
4870
5670
5750
5770?

SupCom 2 is very cpu intensive. Depending on your system, a new video card may not be enough.
