Need a new video card

Currently I have the ATI Radeon 9600 video card which has proven to be great for me so far. However, I am getting into BF2 and I need an upgrade from what I can tell and from what I am hearing from others.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to which card is good choice? I want to spend anywhere from 200 to 300 bucks but no more than 300. I don't really care who makes it as long as its worth the money and it will last. So I am assuming 256MB but I am not sure what a good memory clock and core clock speeds are these days for the new games like BF2.
Any information or suggestions would be great. Thanks

I'm not sure if the brand is reliable or not, but you should be able to get either a x800xl or a 6800gt for $300 or less these days. Both are good cards for modern games.

Sorry, i have to say it. Its not out of fanboyism, but you do want the card to last

take the 6800gt because its great, and has Sm3.

you can find a x800xt competively priced with the 6800gt, do a search on x800xt vs 6800gt to help you decide.
