Need a new video card for my 24" dell

I have a 7800gt video card and a dell 24" monitor. I would like to upgrade. Do you think a 8800gts would be enough? Should I wait on new cards that might come out soon?
 
haha our system is almost the same 🙂 other than your opteron is much better than mine..

I too have been thinking about upgrade my graphics card, but i kinda want to wait for ATI's solution to come out. But personally i think we need something with the power of 8800GTX or better to play games at native res for the next year or two..
 
It should handle it for the most part, look here to get an idea of how it will perform in your machine. With refresh time coming up, it might be a good idea to wait and see what else becomes available.
