I have an older Hauppauge HVR-1800 that I accidentally broke the coax F jack (Those jacks suck:twisted:) I soldered on a new one and the picture is still fuzzy (Could it be my signal? I have Charter Cable and a six way splitter and my Cable Modem has been loosing sync a lot lately) but anyway I want a dual tuner so I was thinking about the Hauppauge HVR-2250 I already have a MCE remote (The good one, MS brand that uses the ehome drivers) So my question is what is the difference between the two models listed on Newegg (Other then one comes with the crappy Hauppauge IR Remote and of course the price)

I am using SageTV Media Center Version 6 for the software and Windows 7 Home Premium x64

Thanks

From what i remember the white/oem box is card only with out the remote and may also not include video software other than drives and their dvr software. This was the case when i bought my 1650 or which ever one i have, don't remember now.

Here are the additional contents of the more-expensive 1213:
Media Center certified remote control transmitter
IR remote control receiver/blaster cable
A/V breakout cable for the primary A/V input
Auxiliary A/V panel and cable to add a second set of audio/video inputs
An IR transmitter cable to control a second set top box thorugh the auxiliary A/V panel
Since you don't need the IR stuff, you should be fine with the less-expensive 1229. Here's what that comes with:
Full height A/V input board
Optional half height/L-P bracket
User Manual
Driver Disk
Even if the more-expensive version comes with video-recording software, it sucks and you don't want to use it anyways. I purchased the 1229 about a year ago and have been extremely pleased with it. I used it with MediaPortal for about 9 months and then with Win 7 MCE for the past 3 months. I use it with an outdoor antenna.

Edit: It's $103 shipped from B&H right now: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/583571-REG/Hauppauge_1229_WinTV_HVR_2250_PCI_Express_TV.html

I am going to use SageTV with Windows 7 x64 (I have used WinTV in the past and it does indeed suck :D) and all I need is the the input bracket and the A/V cable. I have the HVR hooked up to my cable box (SA 8300HDC) and I use it to transfer my DVR Recordings to the computer. ():) No need for an IR remote and the Low-Profile brackets.
