Apparently my xtremegamer doesn't work, or no one knows how to make it work.

I need a sound card that will give me 5.1 using Windows 7 and a Yamaha 367.
It must have an equalizer.

I won't do Xonar because of the ear raping they're known for.

Any suggestions? I really don't want to spend $150 on HT Omega. :(

My motherboard has integrated optical audio, but without DTS I can't do more than 2.0. That's the same with everything.
And it has no equalizer, which I REALLY want.

Have you actually tried a Xonar ?

There are some good deals around, and places like Amazon have a liberal return policy ..

What kind of inputs are you using? Creative had their X-FI HD out now for (for HDMI) and Auzentech has the HD Hometheater product.
If you can use analog or SPDIF, most of the x-fi line should do what you want.
