Need a new set of tires

I Need a new set of front tires for my 98 Taurus SHO and found these Dunlop's for $85 shipped. Seems like a pretty good price for a name brand performance tire.

Those tires wear out fast for some. IMO, they are ok for that price (they're normally around $110), but there are better tire choices.

Ouch! Treadwear of 200 isn't gonna get you too far. My last set was rated 300 (Yokohama) and I got about 25k out of them (I do like the twisties tho😉). I actually bought Kumho Ecsta ASX's two weeks ago. I like them so far. A little softer through the corners then the yokos but hopefully they'll last longer😉

See that your in Wisonsin.......... Those 8000's will be worthless in the snow.

For a good All-Season High Performance tire try the Continental ContiExtreme. Treadwear on my 215/45/17's are a brick like 400 and they handle the curves nicely.

I drive a SVT Contour!

That or the Yokohama's AVID V4s, I have the older ones and they serve me well in Colorado

Thanks guys, this is pretty much my first tire purchase so your information is useful and appreciated .

My sister has AVID V4's on her car. There's no snow here but they are still a good all-season tire regardless with good tread wear...

I got some decent tires for a good price at Sears. If they don't have them in stock they'll order them for you. What they have is on their website.

That's what I am doing Saturday. Sears was charging less for these than the local Goodyear dealers. Winters in the Rochester NY area are supposed to be fairly severe, and these tires should get me through.

Just be carefull they don't get you on the extended warranty BS. They also tack on wheel allignment, which you might not need (I didn't). You should balance of course.

Actually they suck as far as grip is concerned😛 Probably Michelin MXV4's (which are also ridiculously expensive I might add).

yeah, i'd be willing to bet he'd have a smile this big---->😀 if he got some tires like say, bfgoodrich traction t/a H (which are loads better than the MXV4 michelin. traction t/a are hair lesser performing than bridgestone RE950)
