Need a new router

Just looking for some suggestions on what to get. I really have no clue when it comes to routers and networking except for very basic stuff.

I have a basic setup, 3 computers sharing the internet connection over a cable modem. I have also networked the computers for file sharing purposes. I play online games frequently as well. My internet connection speed is 3M/256k.

I have no problems with getting another DI-604 as it was easy to set up and never gave me a bit of trouble, but I am open to something different if it will be better, as in more secure or maybe faster for my home network, etc. I was looking at the D-Link DGL-4100, but it's more expensive and I'm not sure if it's worth it. I would like to stay in the $50 or less range, but I will spend more if it's worth the extra cost. Appreciate the help!

if you got used to it and don't have much experience in the field, stay iwth the d-link🙂

I prefer linksys myself, but in your case, added features or speed etc (which isn't the case anyways sicne your conenction isn't that fast and your configuratio nthat complicated) will come at the cost of having to learn a whoel new interface and such🙂

stick with the d-link brand, buy the cheapest one that has what you need (wireless or whatever)

Cool, sounds great. I can pick another one of these up for about $22 online. Thanks for the suggestion.

Many of the DI-604 has power adapter problem, maybe you can check if replacing the PS will solve your problem.

Thanks for the tip. It is getting power, but only the power and port 4 LED's are lighting up. I've already ordered the new router, I'll check the old one out though.
