No those won't work.
THe selection is pretty crappy. You can get one of Alltel's phones or a Verizon one which is CDMA also. But a VZW phone is gonna be retail priced, so you're pretty much stuck with Alltel's small selection of Motos, LG, Audiovox, and Kyocera phones.
I created a similar thread a couple months back.
I ended up with a Razr V3c.
Pretty sweet, though I didn't know at the time that Alltel V3c runs some lame-ass BREW as opposed to Java. I was hoping to transfer a bunch of Java games and Java apps over but you can't with BREW since AFAIK it's like a DRM-heavy version of Java. But I still picked up a PSP USB cable for $5 that works with the V3c. But at least the Alltel ones don't have the lame Verizon firmware. I hear the Bell and Telus (Canada) firmwares for the V3c use Java still. So hopefully the crackers will figure that out sometime soon for us Verizon and Alltel users. It is possible to flash a Verizon one to Alltel firmware, so hopefully Alltel ones can be flashed to something else.
