hey im looking to replace my intel board, I got it through the intel retail accomidations so it was pretty much free. dont care alot about cost but I dont want to spend more the $250. only other thing is. I refuse to get asus to many bad experiences in the past. dont care about sli or xfire that much ill probably never use it. Im leaning toward the msi board right now. any other suggestions?
current system:
c2d e6300
(2x1gb) ddr667 2.2v 3-3-3-12
(2x250gb) sata hard drives, in raid 0
ati x1800gto2(700/666)
antec nine hundred case

Im looking at these ones right now

While the 965 boards overclock the 6300/6400 better I would recommend this (since you are also looking at 975 boards):

Bad Axe 2

The price is right and it's pretty overclockable, and the best is it's stable as the proverbial rock... (running my E6600 @ 380FSB at stock voltage on everything with nary an issue)

You won't find many reviews because nobody wants to review "another Intel board" but this isn't your fathers Intel board :)

Between the MSI and Gigabyte I would probably go with the DS3, but that's just me. I also agree with the ASUS statement but again that's just opinion :)

I generally agree with DaddyRabbit, although I'd probably take a P965 board for the lower multi on your CPU. DS3 seems like a nice choice. I'd take a good look at the Quad GT though...

Edit: I didn't realize you had DDR2-667 (333FSB), you might just be better off going with the much cheaper DS3. Should have no problem o/c in your setup.

well ive got the dfi 975x up their just for the fact that its dfi and my last board was a dfi nf4 ultra probably one of the best boards ive ever seen. not really so sure because its an infinity though. Id rather have a little higher fsb ability and loose the second pci-e port ill never use it. Ive heard good things about the ds3 but everyone on dfi-street seems to dislike it for some reason?? my friend actually has one of them so I may go that way. ill probably be buying it near the end of march, have to wait for a few other things to pan out first
