Need a new monitor since my Asus VW266H is failing (and Asus refuses to fix it...)

OK. I have an Asus VW266H LCD monitor that's been in use for 2.5 years and recently has begun acting weird on cold turn on....garbled screen or a white screen that just pulses white to black to white. I'm in "discussions" with Asus to get it fixed, since they now have it under RMA, but am getting nowhere fast with them.

Since that monitor seems to be a dead end, I'm looking for a new LCD in the 24" range.

I've been looking at the HP ZR24w and the HP LP2475w models. Both are IPS monitors and both have garnered quite good reviews. Any other suggestions? I've got to get off using this crappy 19" I'm stuck using right now.


My requirements, such as they are: Screen res. 1920 x 1200. Some sort of IPS panel....want to get away from TN panels. NO Asus monitors!


System specs: 2500k @ 4.5GHz, Gigabyte Z68 UD3H motherboard, 16GB Corsair 1.35V DDR3 RAM, MSI 6970 video card, Intel 510 250GB SSD.

I do game, but I'm into RTS/strategy gaming, not twitch/FPS gaming. I also do photo editing, web design, etc. Of course, this is in addition to general computer use--web, etc.

For the price the ZR24w is good deal and has alot of good reviws. It has better color than the dell 2410 i just ordered but i needed a HDMI input so i went with the 2410

I dont have one so i can't commet on it real good, but there are several reviews from othere webs site's that tested them I wish I could figure how to link this but things have changes a lot in forum to were the old way dosn't work any more soory.

the dell 2412 is pretty decent, and can be had for ~$350 + tax

it's an e-ips panel (whereas the HP ZR24w is H-IPS) though
