Need a new Kitty Litter

When I got my long haired calico 3 years ago, she would only use the litter box if it had the non-deodarant clay litter. Otherwise she'd just go in my potted plants (R.I.P. 5 year old grapefruit tree 🙁).

But this stuff is worthless. She uses it a few times and it puts off so much ammonia fume the air isn't safe to breathe in here. It wasn't a problem until we moved into a smaller place.

What do you use for your cat? I want to change to something that works.

My cat used the bathroom outside, so I cant' really help you..... How often do you remove clumps?

Sam's Club has a scoopable litter that is really good.

It is a white bucket, with a green label... costs about $8.00 for a huge bucket. 40 pounds

edit: sorry for the bad pic. I did not know it was gonna be so small. But I just wanted you to see the packaging.

IF you buy a big box of baking soda and use approx 1/4 cup each litter change you will save a lot of $$$ over buying arm & hammer litter.

I have a whole bunch of cats, and have tried them all.

Sam's club is dustless, very absorbent and good value for money.

🙂

I have one of those automatic cat boxes, and aside from the fact that the damn claws get clogged up at times it's a great thing indeed. I generally use Tiny Cat, because the cheaper stuff doesn't work, and others (e.g. Fresh Step) clump so much it puts a lot of stress on the motor.

This guy and this guy are worth the stresses of dealing with a cat box 😀

Shadow, the Beer Cat and Ginger, The Amazing Talking Cat, both use Fresh Step with good results. They each have their own covered litter box and we never have any complaints from guests.
