i am looking for a new monitor since my 19" Samsung 950p starts to give me headaches.

I was eying the NEC/Mitsu 930SB, but this model is old and very hard to find. There was a website where they had this monitor as a refurb for $199 (????), it was some NEC/Mitsubishi site..but i dont even know if they're in business anymore.

Otherwise i need recommenddations for a GOOD budget monitor MAX. $250 and it can very well be refurbished if its from a reliable etailer.

thanks

You're probably thinking of http://www.nm-select.com . They don't have the 930SB there though, at least at the moment. For some reason that particular model was discontinued long before they stopped making the rest of their CRTs (although it's the best 19" out there if you do manage to find one).

I picked up a Sony trinitron Multiscan G400 for $55 at a computer show and comes with 6 month warranty! I would try comp. shows they usually have vendors with graet prices on moitors. Oh and mine is not refurbed and only 5yrs old.

I just ordered a Sony G520 21" the other day for $150 with a 3 year warranty. "Grade A" refurb off Ebay.

Edit: And it's a huge POS. It's going back tomorrow.

sorry to hear that...i would expect good quality from a "Grade A" refurb...mind positing the url/vendor name so i dont end up buying from them ?
Why is the monitor bad ?

thanks :)

Back before Christmas, I bought the 2070SB and a 930SB from them. The 2070 was $330 with free shipping and the 930 was $199 with free shipping. Awesome deals. I now need another 930 to replace an aging junky Envision and have been patiently stalking the nm-select site for the past 8 months. Nada. I think I musta got the last 2070 as well since it has never shown up since then either.

i just got me a refurb Compaq S920 from Azatek for $89 (SHIPPED ! :).....i was looking around over a LOT of reviews, and i really didnt see anything negative about the S920 in terms of image quality etc. while every other monitor i researched had SOME flaw.

Also, a 21" would just be too big....the one IBM someone linked looked very good, DVI and everything ($199 shipped)...but as said 19" is perfect for me and $89 shipped for this Compaq seems like an incredible deal i just couldnt pass.

Besides i am also kind of broke...if the monitor is only half as good as what i read about it then it should be nice for $89 incl. s/h
