Need a new game to play with the wife

TallBill

Lifer
I love playing risk, axis and allies, magic the gathering, warhammer, but dont really have anyone to play with right now. We play yahtzee and backgammon, but those get kind of old quick. Other then that, we have a few "party" games, but nothing else thats 2 player.

I'm thinking about getting the settlers of catan card game. It doesn't seem to extreme, but I dunno. Any suggestions?

try a little game many couples play during their free time.... it's called sex. it's really fun... you might enjoy it. i can't exactly say the same for your wife, though.... gauge her reaction.

it's primarily a 2-player game, but you can add more if you want.

How can backgammon get old?

Chess, rummy, skip-bo, stratego, go, scrabble... umm can't think of more right this second.

If you like thoes stragety card games, then you'll love Stratego. It's a classic.

Monopoly, though it's not a lot of fun with two people, is still pretty fun.

You need at least three people with that.

Rummy is a viable option. We own stratego and chess but she wont play either of those with me. Skip-bo is fairly fun too.

And you cant have sex 24/7. Just looking for other stuff to do together.

Not all that fun 2 player, but we do own that too..

Why does it have to be a game? Some suggestions:

1) Exercise together
2) Take walks
3) Go to the park
4) Photography
5) Trying new restaurants
6) Wine tasting
7) Coffee shops
8) Going to the bookstore
9) Museums, theater, concerts, etc.

Settlers of Catan will take over your life. I'm warning you now. It's good though and I'd start there. I think it was Germany's best game for a long time.

Uh.. we do plenty of stuff together. I just happen to love gaming, and want to get my wife a little into it since I'm in the middle of nowhere.

Well, it has to be a game because that is what the OP asked for.

Jenga? Is that what the game is called where you have to remove the blocks from the pile, and see how many you can remove until it falls?

Connect Four. Even better made into a drinking game. Never figured out why ever bar in Spain had an espresso machine & a Connect Four game. But it was fun. Yay pitchers of Sangria & Connect Four.
