My card drives me crazy with its loud fan. It seems like my case is bowed in when it revs up lol! What after market cooling is available for the 7950 gt? I like the nv silencers but don't know if they make on for the 7900 series. Thanks for the help

I recommend the Zalman VF900-Cu. It is excellent for 7900GT/7950GT GPU's; I had one on my 7900GT (stock speeds were 560/1510, so it was clocked higher than a 7950GT) and at 7900GTX speeds, the idle temperature was 37 degrees (450/1320 2D clocks) and the load temperature was 61 degrees. Room was at 20 degrees. Also, it virtually silent. They go for $40 after taxes and shipping.

The Thermalright HR-03 would be fine for a 7900 and keep load temps around mid 50's max, have one on my 8800GTX so I'd recommend it. Tons of reviews for VGA cooling around the web, Google is your friend :p

I need the same for my 7900GT. What's the cheapest option with good performance? If I can get something pretty good for $10, tell me about it. If I have to spend $25, fine. But I don't want to spend more than that.

only option i've used thus far is the VF-900. and it works quite well, imo. had it cooling an XFX 7900 GT with idles in the 40's, and loads in the 60's.

now it's on a PNY 6800GT (the 7900GT died, rmaed, upgraded to 8800GTS and that's now in hot-rod computer)

I have a Zalman VF-700cu and love it. My card is OCed pretty high and the Zalman keeps it cool and is pretty quiet.

You might try the Arctic Cooling Accelero S1. It's got good reviews (see Google), and fits the 7950GT. It's only $18.99 plus shipping at SVC.com. It's a totally passive solution, so no noise at all.

If you need to cool it more (overclocked, etc.), AC has a virtually silent "Turbo" module for the S1. Or you could just point a quiet case fan at it, for that matter.

I'm gonna second the Arctic Cooling Accelero S1. I just put one on my 7950GT and temps dropped at least 20º C and it's completely silent to boot. Definitely best bang for the buck (from SVC.com). Don't bother with the turbo module though, it seems to work just fine with normal case airflow.

Here are my temps just for reference:
Stock idle: 55º C (relatively silent)
Stock load: ~80º C (loud!)
Accelero S1 idle: 35º C (silent)
Accelero S1 load: ~50º C (silent)

I highly recommend it.
