Need a new coffee maker

So my cheap 8-cup Mr. Coffee coffee maker died over the weekend, and I'm in the market for a new one. I'm by no means a coffee connoisseur. I just want something reasonably reliable that holds at least 8 cups. A timer setting so that I can set it to start in the morning is a plus.

Prices for coffee makers seem to vary wildly. Can I get something decent in the $50 range?

..a few extra bux will get you a Cuisinart machine at costco. well worth it. Mr.Coffee's are junk.
