Need a new chipset HSF for MSI Neo4 Plat SLI

The NV Silencer barely left room for the stock HSF which began stopping and starting and causing lots of noise and leaving me with doubts as to it's continuing ability to keep the chipset cool.

I tried the Cooler Master Blue Ice HSF they sell at CompUSA but even it was too tall.

So I need something no taller than the stock HSF.

I have seen pictures of the the Zalman ZM47 blue chipset heatsink fan with its fins bent towards the horizontal, so it almost looks like on of Zalman's flower petal designs.

I had the same problem you did, sort of -- a Neo4 Platinum where my 6800GT was basically resting on top of the chipset fan. I ended up unplugging the chipset fan and positioning my P180's 120mm intake fan so that the airflow went straight at the Nforce4 chip.

Good idea. I picked up a cheapo Cooler Master version of that Zalman yesterday and might try the same thing with it.

I just ordered a Vantec Iceberg 4Pro.

It's a VGA / Chipset cooler. Given the dimensions, it looks like it should fit and that would be ideal.

I put the little passive cooler off my DFI 250GB on my MSI K8N SLI and it works great. Honestly, the chipset doesn't get very hot on mine. I only run 250HTT with default chipset voltage though.

The DFI on the other hand was scorching with that little thing on there, I put a big passive Zalman on it.
