Need A New Chipset Fan For An ABIT KT7-RAID Motherboard...

Check out some GPU hsf combos that they sell now. They would offer suitable, if not better performance for your mobo chipset.
I like the looks of the blue orb but I'm not sure how well it cools since I don't have one.

That Blue Orb does not look like it would fit. Plus ThermalTake has a bad reputation for fan failure. Had a new Dragon Orb 3 crap out after two weeks of use recently.

Mine failed a while ago. I just took it off and kept the heatsink on. I've also got a Duron overclocked an additional 200 mhz. Haven't had a single problem since. Damn thing is so much quieter now.

This happened to me too... I just emailed Abit about it and they sent me a new one for free! It was odd, no warranty or ownership verification-- they just sent it to me right away!

So now the same thing happened on my KT7A... guess I'll fire another email. The fans they use must be super-cheap.

Cheep,

What email address did you use to email them? My KT7 chipset fan was making so much noise it was unbearable and finally I think it died. Need to get another one. 🙂

Any help is appreciated.

Scsi-- I'm not sure, but I think it was the general tech support email address, which I found somewhere on Abit's site.

For about the cajillionth time I have posted this 🙂 ...... Email Abit tech support with your address and they will mail you a new fan for free, this was a known problem on the KT7 boards. At least a year or so ago they would, took less than 2 weeks to get it. You may be able to run without it, but why take the chance?
