Need a new CD-Writer

Which drive?

The plextor has a great reputation by name.

The Sony has great repuation on Newegg as far as feedback is concerned.


My main concern is archival quality.


Forget about the price difference.

Any comments on the Sony vs the Plex? The khypermedia is the one giving me write errors now. I tried that one already. In all fairness I used it several hundred burns for over a year. . .

As far as the best write quality, I believe that is TDK's crown at the moment.

Why on earth buy a CDRW when there are DVDRW's?
CDRW's are practically obsolete although still on the market.
A DVDRW will do CD's as well.
Help me understand why you are opting for a CDRW if price is of no concern.
You can pick up a Pioneer DVR-108 for around $80 on NewEgg.It's highly rated.
