Me and the wife have an older one we used with our son (he's now 2) that would occasionaly lose signal and pick up some random interference. We were at babies-r-us and saw the Graco imonitor and it seemed OK. SO after following the instructions to a "t" I let them charge over night and tried them out today. It loses signal continuosly even as close as ~6 ft. away. This was in the same room and line of sight, no walls. Needless to say, it's going back.
I know I can google and read reviews but I'm curious if the members here can recommend (or highly not recommned) some specific models.
Thanks for any help.

we have a dual video monitor that we love. we have one camera in the 3 yr old's room and the other in the 1 yr old's room. you can turn the video off so that it functions solely as an audio monitor if you want. it tends to get pretty staticky sometimes but that is easily rectified by moving it around.

we've found the best part is that now we can see if the kids are actually awake or just moving around before putting themselves back to sleep.

i can find out the brand name and model if you want. it was pretty expensive though. something like $150.

EDIT: Summer Infant is the brand i think. however, i can't seem to find the model online. it's possible we got the regular one then added an extra camera to the system.

we use a standard fisher price set. it works well, i don't hear too much interference unless i use the blackberry or cell phone near it.

thanks for the info so far. We have an older video monitor we used with my son also. It also had some interference in it but it's even better than losing the signal like the graco model. We just wanted something that has no problems at all.

We just returned from taking it back. Still gonna research online but the graco model did pretty well so it's hard to tell.

Anyone else have any suggestions?

We took back two different models before we finally opted for the Sonys. The others just kept getting too much interference and were too touchy with signal loss. I liked being able to adjust the frequency myself.

Sony Monitor

We got two of these and have been very happy with them.

These are the same monitors we use and love them. I think we had some Fisher Price ones before that and always had problems. These Sonys are pretty good IMHO

Never had a use for baby monitors when my kids were little, but here's a thread bump for you anyway. :)
