need a motherboard

A friend is helping me build a computer, and has givin me an AMD 2600 XP processor and i need to know if a K7S5a motherboard made by Elite Group will support it?

what socket is the elite group? if socket A it will most likey work go to elite group site and look at compatiblitys somthing like that pretty sure it will be fine.

The k7s5a only supports 266 fsb xp's. Your's may be a 333 barton. Check to be sure.

Hi!
In the owner's manual it says it can take up to Xp2600
but I was not able to make it work and there is no bios update
to make it work.
I would suggest to buy The ECS L7S7A2 at a very good price.

There are different versions of the XP 2600+, some are oficially supported by that ECS and some aren't.
