Ok, so I just bought a CNC machine and figured I'd drag my old tower out of retirement to run it with.
Currently the tower has an abit IP35-Pro (LGA775) mobo.
I need to make sure whatever I choose can support an Intel Q6600 and 8GB of RAM, Sata II, PCIE-16x, basically the performance stuff circa 2008.
Here is the kicker... I need a motherboard with a paralled port on board. I don't want to use an expansion card because of the nature of the application.. I just don't trust that the pulse stream from the parallel port used to run the stepper motors on the CNC would be as accurate as if I were using an integrated port and this part is absolutely critical.
Anyway, figured I'd ask AT for some ideas. Thanks!
