I need a mobo that has two PCI-x slots to support one for the tim being, two in the future, of this raid card.

http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/Produ...ductCode=132234

also needs to have gigabit lan, onboard SATA....prefer amd over intel.

What options do i have? its strictly a fileserver, occasional lan game server...but not very often anymore. I have been out of the motherboard/cpu scene for a long time so im not sure where to start looking.

THanks for the advice!

If it's going to be Intel, then you'll find the PCI-X capable chipsets combined with Xeons only. On the AMD side, you'll typically find Opteron boards with PCI-X.

Browsing the Tyan website should give you ideas.

Yeah - Most likely AMD, but cost is the main factor here for me. I run dual xeons in my desktop rig but my server is only for files, light http/ftp, nothing high resource intensive.

Tyan, Supermicro "A+" models, and Iwill are the makers you should research.
