I have seen a lot of threads here relating to out of work people and would like to give you all something to think about.
Start a little home business re-recording from records or tape to CD. There are tons of people out there with LP records that have been used and abused but the owner still wants the music. I charge $15,00 per record, usually 9 or 10 songs on a album and it takes me about 45 minutes to a hour do one record. I use gold wave and clean up all the noise that is on the record sometimes adding a little accent to the music. Turn your machine into a music conservation device. It is very easy to make $150.00 a day and more if you want to put in a lot of hours. A small ad in the paper will get you started.

Should be legal as long as you don't distribute the copies to anyone but the original owner... As a consumer, you have the right to have a backup copy.

It should be because you are making a back-up for the original owners personal use. The same way it's okay to copy a CD you own to a CDR for personal use such as you keep the original at home, but make a CDR for your car, that's fair use IMHO.

I believe it is legal or I would not do it or recommend it. The person owning the record has the right to backup or to archive hiis music.

It would have to be some really rare stuff for them not to just order the cd.
