I've just starting running crossfire with my two asus EAH4870 both running 1gb of RAM. When I run my catalyst control under Crossfire it shows that I have it enabled but when I check the hardware summary and it says that I have one primary card and one card is disabled. I had one person tell me that it will run disabled until it is needed and then it will come into effect but when I run crysis warhead at gamer settings I'm only getting around 25 frames and this frame rate does not improve at all while running the second card with crossfire enabled.
Here is my system:
4gbs 5-5-5 ram with windows xp(3.25gb max)
E7200 core 2 duo at 2.53gbs(no overclocking)
I've been told that with my processor it will create a bottle neck but if thats the case with crysis that would mean that even when running just a single card its not enough for the card to perform to its fullest. I just cant understand how I wouldn't get any extra frames with an extra card.
Also, My motherboard, ram and 2 graphics cards were just recently installed by a so-called professional and since the installation I haven't been able to start up my 3dmark06, is it possible that with a new system 3DMark can take ten or more minutes to start up?
Any insight is greatly appreciated guys.
