OK, a little background: I have a P3-850 system and I'm building a P4-2.4 system currently. It's been a while since I've done my homework, I knew my stuff when it came to P3's and such - but I'm out of the loop with the current gen of processors....

A couple of questions :

My CPU is a 2.4B so it runs on a 533MHz FSB, right?
I'll want to use 333Mhz DDR right?
333Mhz RAM = PCxx00? (not sure what the numbers will be)

I don't have a mobo yet but I'm planning on getting a board /w the 875 chipset (Thinking of the MSI FIS2R)

And, when I upgrade, I'll be ready for the 800MHz FSB processors. I'll need to upgrade to 400MHz DDR as well, right? Is that PC3200?

Any help is appreciated - looking to get back up to speed since knowledge of BX and LX chipsets is no longer useful ;)

Yes, it'll still run at whatever speed you put it, but if you ever needed to jump to 400mhz for some reason, you wouldn't have to purchase different memory just because your 333 couldn't handle it.

Ah, ok - I was thinking that the RAM had to be matched to the FSB speed used - thanks! :)
