Getting ready to buy a brand new system and can't decide on the following, should I...
This is going to be based on the Gigabyte GA-7VRXP Motherboard

(1) Corsair 256 PC2700 DDR Ram + 1.2Ghz Duron (Retail)

(2) Corsair 256 PC2400 DDR Ram + Athlon XP 1700+ (Retail)

Leaning toward #2,

Advice???

unless you plan on a large oc I think reviews sites have shown that pc2700 with even the xp and the 133fsb wont take advantage of the additional bandwidth....then ofcourse there are asynch issues with many of the boards...you really need to get the cpu up to 166fsb to really take advantage.

Therefor pc2400 or 2700 or hell just crucial 2100 will be fine....

Duron with only a 100fsb will clearly not take advantage of pc2700 potential bandwidth....
