Need a little advice on trucks.

I have been thinking of getting a truck pretty soon, and been thinking of maybe getting a Ford Sporttrac pickup. Money is rather tight and I will be definitely be getting a used vehicle, but I do need as much space as I can get since my family is getting bigger all the time (my 3rd child is due next month).

Is this a fairly sound choice or are there any particular reasons I should avoid this truck?

Thx in advance.

Sport track has a dinky bed. Very dinky.

I say buy a minivan if you are concerned about space. You can haul just about as much. The few times you can't haul it with the minivan, rent a truck.

Care to elaborate. I know he wouldn't get one anyways as they are brand new but I haven't heard anything good or bad about them yet.

I don't haul a whole lot, but I am going to be building a house and I know my Cougar can haul a lot less. ;)

We own a Grand Caravan already as the primary family vehicle and as it goes I only haul one kiddo to school and my wife hauls the other/s with her. I just thought as a secondary vehicle it might serve well since it can seat as many as my Cougar currently does and still fit a little bit of stuff in the back.

Another thing I have to think about is mileage because I drive about 60 or so miles a day.

Seriously. With as much as you drive, and for your requirements, buy something economical for the commute. Rent a vehicle when you absolutely need it. You can rent a truck from Menards for $17 an hour to haul the big stuff when you really need that ability.

I guess I could opt to borrow my pop's truck, but I really hate borrowing things.

The sport trac has hardly ANY room - the whole interior is totally cramped.
