Need a little advice on Co-op type games

Have been a long-term PC gamer, so I know jack about console games.

Just got a PS3 for Christmas.

It plays the PS1 & PS2 games.

I'm looking for recomendations of PS2 games

Anyhoo, I had picked up a copy of Ghost Recon (PS1 game) and enjoyed playing the co-op missions with my son.

Yesterday I got Ghost Recon 2 (graphics are way better), dammit, no co-op missions. :frown:

What PS2 games similar to Ghost Recon (FPS) that have co-op mission (also death matches and stuff like that) can you guys recommend?

Not a lot of FPS on the PS2, Time Splitters and Rainbow Six have co-op though. Contra Shattered Soldier and NeoContra are good, I prefer Neo out of the two. Metal Slug Anthology, although they did screw up the first few games with input lag, but still fun for casual play. If you're into adventure games the Champions of Norrath, Gauntlet, Baldur's Gate, and LoTR series are fun for 2 or sometimes 4 players. Oh and X-Men Legends/Marvel Ultimate Alliance. Lego Star Wars, Guitar Hero 2, eh all I can think of off the top of my head.

My daughter and I loved Time Splitters...also Brute Force (don't know if that is a PS2 game or xbox)...
