I'm not a gamer, but my friend's kid is and he's looking for a new card for Christmas.

I assume that the MX is giving the best value, but I don't know which company has the best card.

Also if you know of another GeForce whose price is comparable to an MX please post.

Save our time, don't post nVidia is suck type of posts.

Thanks,
WW

I have a VisionTek GeForce 2 MX which can be had for 107 shipped at UCDWeb. I ordered mine from there way back when the MX just came out. I think it's a great card for the price.

Is visiontech good?

I read in the video forum that a Visiontech GTS was going for $150.
And is it the same as the Elsa card?

Thanks guys

From what I've heard, the GUILLEMOT 3D PROPHET II is pretty tight due to it's 5.5ns memory.
As a mater of fact I just bought one about 2 hours ago.

Office boy, can you expand that a little more?

Is the 3D Prophet a GTS or MX?
How much and where did you get it?

Also is the Twin View just as good in performance as the single monitor? I'm looking at the Guillemot Prophet MX - dual monitor for $115.

It's MX, with tv out, for $119 at Mwave.
I guess most MX's have memory that runs at 166, but the GUILLEMOT has memory that is rated at 181Mhz giving a big performance increase. I had a pretty good review that compared the Elsa MX the Guillemot and another card but I can't find the link anymore.
Here is a review

Thanks for the link.

Now the choice is between the single or dual.

I read the following discription.
"The Dual Display feature signifies monitor and TV display."

But the single view also has TV out.
So does it mean dual display but the second display has to be a tv?

Anyway, I gotta leave now so if I don't post a reply thanking you again, please take it now. Thank you.

Go here for a 4 card comparison:

I have been using a Visiontek Geforce2 MX for several months. Great card. Overclocks well. Mine did not come with a heat sink. I stuck one on with just some silver grease & suction holding it on.

I just purchased the top rated (in this review) eVGA for $96 + frt, but have not installed it yet. It does have a sink without a fan.
