I originally purchased two ASUS 2014L1T burners. Turns out they don't do Dual Layer except at 2.4X. Anything faster gets you coasters.
So, I replaced one of them with a Pioneer 215DBK and I can now burn dual layer on it at 8X. I want to replace the other Asus burner now with a lightscribe burner that will do the dual layer as well as the Pioneer.
Doing some searching, it seems the Lite-on drives are extremely noisy. The Samsung SH-S203N is hard to find and out of stock at Newegg. LGs seem to get good reviews but I have only really seem them in Canadian dealers, nothing in the US.
Now I found an HP 1070i. Haven't seen too much written about it except some sites call it the Lite-on HP 1070i which makes me believe it is a rebadged Lite-on.
Does anybody have any suggestions on a burner?
