Need a Laptop Recommendation

My friend is buying a new laptop for college. He needs it to be fairly portable and able to play games occasionall9700 mobility or better, and the rest doesn't matter that much. The price needs to be arouy. He wants a good quality brand, about 6 lb or less, nd $1500. Thanks for any suggestions you can make.
 
Well, I'm partial to and recommend Toshiba laptops. The price of Dell laptops are hard to beat, but some complain they feel "cheap".
 
Check out Acer Laptops. At my internship everyone had them and everyone raved about them. I've looked at Dell and while they put a nice CPU in it they only stick a 30, 40gb HDD in it which will fill up quick at college with all the stuff on the school network. I've looked at HP and found some nice ones.
